Welcome to the Internet Safety wiki. The concerns of Internet safety continue to expand and encompass many components of research and online use. This wiki is a forum for those who have attended the iSafe introduction workshop and wish to continue and collaborate on your instructional practices in a virtual professional setting.

Internet Safety Workshop
iSafe Orientation Workshop
This hands-on workshop emphasizes the relevance of “iSafe” and strategies necessary to ensure the safety of our students when surfing the net. Every participant will obtain an “iSafe” account gain an entry level understanding of how the resource can be used to maximum advantage. In addition to on-line professional assessment, there will be relevant interactive communication tools available (i.e. internet classroom assistant, blogs, wikis, etc.) Handouts will be web-based.

Welcome – Introductions (Large)
Getting to know you - How much information is too much information -(ie Write a little introduction for yourself to the world)
Introducing the purpose and importance of internet safety using iSafe - Large
Introducing the iSafe Account Creation for Educators
Modeling how to create an iSafe account and sign on
Introducing the resources (web-based informational activities - virtual handouts)
Creating iSafe accounts (Small Groups)
Review
Completing the online workshop assessment and evaluation. This classroom is accessible 24 hours daily, 7 day a week
Assignments and other academic events will be posted here.
